Kitten Jumping in the Night -- Italian Sonnet

Kitten Jumping in the Night

My dear kitten, why do you jump on me?
I am not some new trampoline for you.
Bouncing up and down, over one and two
Scrambling across my prone form, hear my plea!
Ceded blankets, pillows, trinkets to thee
Not one thing has gotten you to just do
Sleeping next to me like you're supposed to
Instead, I now wake... I did not agree
What should I do with my annoying cat?
Some nights tempted to toss her at a wall
Then she purrs at me and I remember
Oh yeah, I love her, I can't forget that!
Sits next to me when lonely, sad, and all
Warming me up, my personal ember.

Black Holes in Your Eyes

Black Holes in Your Eyes

Black holes in your eyes
Gravity wells
Undeniable in their lure
Holding me in their grasp
Taking up all my sight
The darkness complete
Light cannot
Escape

Black holes in your eyes
Ensnare my mind and soul
Fight as I may
The bonds are total
Complete submission to
Unshakable will
Collapsing my resolve
Into its component parts
Nothingness

Black holes in your eyes
Suck me in
Time stands still
Stretches into the infinite
Trapped for eternity
Until we achieve
Evaporation

This poem had a direct inspiration. I ran across this particular picture on Facebook from a group called, "I Fucking Love Science." I saw it and the Black Holes in Your Eyes line (and title) came into my head.

Poly Promises -- form poetry Kyrielle

Poly Promises

Kiss my lips, turn and walk away
I like to see you come and go
Waiting until next we can play
Together separate made one

Absence breeds fondness of the heart
When I see you, my love does grow
It hurts when we're too long apart
Together separate made one

I with mine as you are with yours
I care for them more than you know
Sometimes shaken to both our cores
Together separate made one

Love given life with every breath
Words, touch, kiss: lovers love does sow
Loving each other until death
Together separate made one

Cry Away Memories -- a Blitz Poem

Cry Away Memories

So happy you could die
So happy you could cry
Cry me a river
Cry until you run dry
Dry as the desert
Dry up the words in your heart
Heart wounds heal slowest
Heart cares not
Not for all the world
Not in all of time
Time for free thought
Time enough for love
Love carries all things
Love bears all burdens
Burdens pile on until backs break
Burdens lay where they drop
Drop dead in your tracks
Drop that hot potato at your own risk
Risk not want not
Risk everything for a kiss
Kiss me
Kiss you
You love me
You can bear me no ill will
Will work for food
Will fuck for work
Work killing me a day at a time
Work taking its cut of your soul
Soul drippings are the trimming
Soul droppings are the words
Words are the blessings
Words are the curse
Curse in the hearing of a child
Curse put upon me from birth
Birth to death and back again
Birth I will never see
See the scars invisible
See invisible tears
Tears streak down from soulless eyes
Tears puddle on the floor
Floor slippery when wet
Floor bathed in water
Water washes away the stains
Water cleanses and clears
Clears away the pain
Clears away the memories
Memories...
Pain...

12/20/12
Form: Blitz

Blitz Poem: series of short phrases and images with repetition and rapid flow. Begin with one short phrase, can start with a cliche. Begin the next line with the same word as line. The third and fourth lines are phrases that begin with the last word of the 2nd phrase. the 5th and 6th lines begin with the last word of the 4th line and so one, continuing with each subsequent pair beginning with the last word of the line above them, which establishes a pattern of repetition. The title must be only 3 words with some sort of preposition or conjunction joining the first word from the third line to the first word from the 47th line, in that order. There should be no punctuation. When reading a Blitz, read it very quickly pausing only to breathe.
